Abstract
There is an important stuff which derives from the hot rolling: overheating of the laminating rolls. The problem’s obvious solution is the refrigeration. In GERDAU DIACO Tuta the workers have opted for change the Rolling mills original cooling System for a more efficient one, then while it System offered some temperature decrease, the ratio between cooling power and water quantity was so low. Although the changes done have largely improved the cooling system, these modifications have been make at trial an error and they still fail to reduce and maintain an optimal working temperature. This project goes about the analysis of the Train 2 roughing mil cooling System current state of the Factory mentioned and the possible solution that gives optimum results, focusing on the water supply, the property distribution thereof and the amount to be applied. In the develop of this study it chose to change the existing structure, which consist of a 2” pipe with flutes pointing to all gutters of the cylinder, for a metal bands configuration with full cone nozzle outputs, with a so much better directed, more practical, high control and less water loss system.
