Abstract
Eng: The purpose of this research project is to analyze the urban social
imagery related to the closed residential complexes in Valledupar, taking into account the symbolic universes affected by identity and social relations in
neighborhood life. The project methodology is oriented, from the parameters of
the qualitative approach, the use of the ethnographic method, the application of
data collection techniques such as observation and semi-structured interview, as
well as the analysis of the arguments proposed by Berger and Luckmann, 1986,

Henríquez (2010), Carretero, (2011) Martínez, (2011), among other authors.
So far it has been found that residential enclosed spaces have begun
to redraw the social geography of Valledupar, and in turn are reshaping processes of change in the city, which not only affect the physical spatiality of urban spaces,
but also in symbolic universes of those living in closed sets.
