Abstract
Get older is not only based on exceeding a certain age limit, It is a complex process where they infer extrinsic and intrinsic factors that can cause it to slow down but not stop, It is the product of different factors that we live throughout our lives, influencing all our physical abilities; but nevertheless, The continuous practice of physical activity contributes to the improvement of living conditions and slows the aging process of the elderly, and that better by means of a common taste that this population has; how is the physicalized music activity. The objective was to implement a physical activity program as an alternative to improve aerobic capacity. It was carried out with 40 elderly women between the ages of 60 and 69 belonging to the program “We create healthy life by respecting the elderly" of Indeportes Boyacá, they have medical assessment and acceptance to perform moderate physical activity, manifesting willingness to participate through informed consent. The program lasts 3 months with a frequency of three times a week one hour a day. This research is within the mixed approach in which researchers combine techniques, methods, concepts or quantitative and qualitative language within the same research (Johnson y Onwuegbuzie, 2004). This study used two instruments of information collection which were the 6-minute walk test by means of the battery Senior Fitness test, quantitative instrument aimed at older adults to assess the initial and final status after the implementation of the program in the aerobic capacity; and the field diary investigative, qualitative instrument that allows us to systematize the experiences and investigative practices day by day. There are significant differences in the two age groups between the meters traveled by the TC6M and the post test. Being the group of 60 to 64 years who presents more meters traveled and therefore better aerobic capacity after the intervention. concluding that the physical activity program musicalized if it presents significant improvements in the aerobic capacity of the elderly of Indeportes Boyacá.
