The Alto Chicamocha Irrigation District, commonly known as "Usochicamocha" is located in the Upper Chicamocha River Basin in the Department of Boyacá, in the jurisdiction of the municipalities of Paipa, Duitama, Tibasosa, Nobsa, Sogamoso, Santa Rosa de Viterbo and Firavitoba. The district has area 9.300 hectares and benefits 6.131 users with irrigation and drainage service, annually produce 190.000 tons of food. The area of study meets agroecological conditions and optimal infrastructure for the establishment of fruit and vegetable agribusiness, with the bulb onion standing out. In Colombia, the department of Boyacá is the main producer of this vegetable with 56, 29% of the sowing area, representing 44, 63% of the production volume, with an average yield of 28, 27 t/ha. The main objective was to identify and describe the main attributes, characteristics, limitations, opportunities of the object of study in this case the producers of bulb onion (Allium Cepa L.) where the economic, technical and environmental context was analyzed and giving priority to the social. The survey was defined as an appropriate methodological tool for the collection of information, which was subsequently processed through multivariate statistical analysis. As a result of this research work it was possible to establish the structure, dynamics and heterogeneity of the different domains of recommendation in which the producers were classified, being able to define their particular (within the group) as well as the differences outside them. The product obtained becomes a significant contribution, for both farmers and the administration of the irrigation district, allowing it to make dynamic decisions in such a way as to facilitate the articulation of highly competitive markets.
