Abstract
Eng: This research arises from the pedagogical reflection from the teaching task, with the purpose of projecting new scenarios for teaching scientific knowledge and technological advances offered by emerging sciences such as Nanoscience, Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine, since they have a strong interdisciplinary component where different sciences such as Physics, Chemistry,
Biology, Medicine, Engineering, among others, converge. Likewise, it represents an important interest in bringing these sciences to the educational and didactic field, which can transform students' attitudes towards the teaching and learning of some terms and concepts of the Natural Sciences.
Therefore, the objective of this research was to analyze the content of textbooks commonly used by Physics teachers of 10th and 11th grade in terms of their interdisciplinary and the approach to terms related to Nanoscience, Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine. The methodological development was carried out in 3 phases, the first one consisted of a documentary review followed by the design of a semi-structured interview and two analysis rubrics. The second phase consisted
of an interview that gathered the perceptions of 6 teachers and the selection of 5 commonly used textbooks. In phase 3, the content analysis of school textbooks was performed according to the categories and criteria handled in studies done by (Rojas Niño, 2016; Calderero, 2002; Klein, 2004). Similarly, the qualitative data were analyzed by means of the Atlas ti program, resulting in 9 semantic networks.
It was evident that textbooks present mainly disciplinary components supported by some contributions from other sciences, while the concepts of Nanoscience, Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine are scarce, likewise, the use of the textbook as a didactic tool has decreased according to the perceptions collected, so teachers choose to articulate other resources for the teaching of Physics as their own didactic material, simulators, contextual situations, case studies and video games. In general, teachers are unaware of the potential of Nanotechnology in the interdisciplinary teaching of Physics. The research prospects, according to the background, are
based on generating spaces for dissemination and training, as well as academic programs that strengthen this field and, finally, the design of didactic strategies to bring this knowledge closer to students at different academic levels.
